If you've spent anytime around DeSoto, you know Debby Baugh. She's that flash you see zoming around the DeSoto Food Pantry making sure eveything runs smoothly. She's the lady that made sure all the names on the Angel Tree got gifts for Christmas. She worked tirelessly during Great Days of Service and somehow in her spare time she manages to be a Book Angel and goes into our prison system to tape inmates as they read books for their children. She also makes the best Sweet Potatoe Pies in town.
Debby was recognized for all she does for our community when the DeSoto Chamber of Commerce named her Ctiizen of the Year at their Annual Gala on January 23rd. The only problem, Debby and Jim were out of town and didn't attend the Gala. As a result, DeSoto Mayor Bobby Waddle presented the award to Debby at a recent City Council Meeting.
Congratulations!!! Debby Baugh - DeSoto Citizen of the Year for 2009. She joins former award winners, Bobby Waddle, Curtistene McCowan, and Denise Valentine.
