Santa Claus came to town Dec. 12 — and he brought along a lot of company.
Floats, dancers, musicians, hula-hoopers and even soccer players preceded the jolly old elf as he made his appearance in the 20th annual Flower Mound Christmas Parade.
About 90 parade entries glided down Morriss Road to the delight of about 3,000 attendees, including first-time viewers Jane Kennedy and her two children.
“Anything to support Flower Mound,” she said. “We love Flower Mound.”
Sitting nearby, surrounded by family, was Jan Petersen, who said she had been attending the parade since it began — first with her children and now with her grandchildren.
“It’s wonderful,” she said. “It’s great for the kids.”
Once the parade had passed by, three of the Bonder children, from Lantana, offered their thoughts. Alexis, 8, liked the bands. Sydney, 5, liked the “princesses” — girls modeling fancy dresses. Sam, 5, had slightly more practical tastes.
He liked “when they throw candy out,” he said.
