Legacy Christian Advances to Playoffs with Win Over McKinney Christian 54-20
The Legacy Eagles played their last regular season game Oct. 30 against McKinney Christian. The win gave the Eagles a 6-3 regular season record and earned them second place in the District. Highlights of the game include Andrew Journey with four touchdowns and 134 yards on seven carries. Ben Trotter added a rushing touchdown, while Connor Ward and Nathanael Mattay each caught touchdown passes from Josh Atkinson. Blake Snider blocked a punt, and Dylan Palmer scooped and scored for the Eagles final score. The JV Eagles team was able to play the entire fourthquarter. “We did what we had to do, and we won 54-20. The Varsity Offense scored every time we had the ball,” said Head Coach Mike Hall.Defensive standouts include Ben Trotter with 13 tackles, seven solo; Andrew Journey with 12 tackles, four solo; and Ben Rogers with 10 tackles, eight solo. Connor Ward had an interception and return of 25 yards, Nathanael Mattay had an interception and return of 23 yards, and Blake Berry had two interceptions with 78 return yards. Blake Snider had a blocked punt and extra point, and JT Anyanwu had a blocked punt.The Eagles have a bye week and have already begun preparing for their first playoff game November 13 at Comstock Field against Fort Worth Lake Country. Fort Worth Lake Country enters playoffs with a 7-2 record.
