The Assistance League of Greater Collin County is pleased to announce that we are celebrating the clothing of our 10,000th needy child on Tues. October 27 at 10:00 a.m. at the Pearson Early Childhood School located at 4000 Eagle Pass in Plano. Dr. Cheri Izbicki, Principal of Pearson, Dr. Doug Otto, Superintendant of PISD and members of the Assistance League will be in attendance.
This philanthropic organization provides new clothing to elementary school children in six Collin County districts which include Plano, Allen, Frisco, McKinney, Proer and Lovejoy. The Assistance League also conducts literacy programs for children, a program for seniors, distributes magazines at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano and provides memory boxes for grieving parents. Funding is provided for these programs by the hosting of HOLIDAY HAPPENING Gala on November 14, 2009 at the Embassy Suites in Frisco. This event is highlighted by a terrific dinner, silent and live auctions plus a cash bar. The silent auction will provide baskets bursting with goodies that include great wine, restaurant certificates, tickets to sporting events, rounds of golf, holiday decor and childrens games, toys and apparel. The live auction will offer elegant jewelry, trips to Las Vegas and other exotic destinations and vacation homes. The $100 tickets are available by calling 972-762-0431 or e-mail Nancy Naigle at nnaigle@tx.rr.com.
