The McKinney Chamber of Commerce is celebrating Texas Chamber of Commerce Week, October 19-23 along with hundreds of other Chambers throughout the state.
“We are proud to participate in Texas Chamber of Commerce Week,” said McKinney Chamber President Jodi Ann LaFreniere, CCE. “Our Chamber has played a significant role in attracting and welcoming businesses to our community and serving as an important resource for businesses large and small. Our mission is to empowering our members to achieve economic success by focusing on Advocacy and Public Policy, Business and Community Development as well as value added Member Benefits and Services.”
McKinney Mayor Brian Loughmiller will present a proclamation recognizing Texas Chamber of Commerce Week at the Chamber’s Quarterly Membership Luncheon October 20, at 11:30 a.m. at Eldorado Country Club (2604 Country Club Drive, McKinney). The community is invited to join the Chamber at the lunch to hear keynote speaker Dr. Sheila Amin Gutierrez de Pineres whose presentation is titled “Terrorism and the Economy: Lessons Learned from Columbia.”
Monday, October 19, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. the McKinney Chamber will join with over 86 Chambers in the North Texas region for a special lunch featuring keynote speaker Bill Lively, President & CEO North Texas Super Bowl XLV Host Committee at the new Cowboy’s Stadium. Chambers throughout Texas are scheduled to participate in this year’s event. “Texas Chamber of Commerce Week is an opportunity for Chambers of Commerce around Texas to celebrate their accomplishments and promote their roles in positively impacting their local economies through the creation of new jobs and new tax revenue,” said Diane Probst, president/CEO of the Rockport-Fulton Area Chamber of Commerce and board chairwoman of the Texas Chamber of Commerce Executives. “We have Chambers that represent large metropolitan areas as well as those that represent smaller communities, but all of them have a substantial impact on their respective communities. Their collective efforts have helped position Texas as the number one state in which to do business.”
Texas Chamber of Commerce Week is coordinated annually through TCCE, which is based in Austin. TCCE is an organization of chamber executives from across the state, working together to improve the business climate in Texas, while developing ways to enhance the quality of life in the communities that they represent.
