Traditional Derby finery, complete with a hat, was appropriate attire as over 500 guests enjoyed “An Evening at the Derby” September 26, raising donations for CITY House, a Plano based non-profit agency dedicated to “Protecting Children and Strengthening Families.”  The annual event included dinner and dancing, a silent auction, prize drawings and an opportunity to enjoy simulated Kentucky Derby horse race action on big screens.  A Celebrity Sweepstakes Race, which ended in a four-way tie, featured mayors Steve Terrell of Allen, Maher Maso of Frisco, Brian Loughmiller of McKinney and Phil Dyer of Plano.    CITY House provides counseling for families and children in crisis and has shelters for teens and young adults at risk.  For more information visit www.cityhouse.org.
