In conjunction with its summer musical OLIVER!, Theatre Coppell is conducting a food drive to benefit the CCA (Christian Community Action) food bank. "Food, Glorious Food" is the name of the first musical number in OLIVER! in which a group of starving orphans dream about receiving a second helping at dinner. Unfortunately, there are people in our area who have trouble putting their first helping on the table. And in our current economic situation, it is even more difficult. We hope you will help Theatre Coppell by donating food during this drive.
Food items such as CANNED FOODS of all kinds (canned fruit, vegetables, meat, chicken, tuna, soups, chili, stews, pasta, juice, evaporated & condensed milk). BABY FOOD & formula. DRY FOODS such as rice, pasta, beans, peas, macaroni & cheese, pasta meals, rice meals, potato meals, "helper" meals, crackers, oatmeal, cereal, & milk. (Please, no "snacks" such as chips.) Single ply bathroom tissue is apparently also very much in need. Sorry, but NO FRESH, FROZEN, REFRIGERATED or PERISHABLE FOODS can be accepted.
Food Donations can be dropped off at three locations starting Monday, June 29th, continuing through Sunday, July 26th:
The office of Dr. Peter Lecca, DDS, 275 S. Denton Tap Rd., Monday to Thursday from 8 am to 5 pm.
The office of Coppell Family Medical Center, 580 S. Denton Tap Rd., Monday to Friday from 8 am to 6 pm.
The Coppell YMCA, 146 Town Center Blvd., Monday to Saturday from 7 am to 6 pm.
The Coppell Center for the Arts, 157 S. Moore Rd., Coppell from 7:30 pm to 9 pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, & Friday, and from 3 to 4:30 pm on Sunday. Donations can also be dropped off before performances of OLIVER! Performances are Friday and Saturday at 8 pm and Sunday at 2:30 pm from July 10th through 26th. Items may be dropped off an hour and a half up to performance time.
