Pets are a part of the family to their owners, says Dr. Andrew Martin at Lovers Lane Animal Medical Center, and his practice is geared to reflect it.
At the West Lovers Lane clinic and full-service wellness center, staff and doctors welcome patients into a spacious facility that provides all the tailored health care an owner could want to provide their pet.
Martin and his business partner and co-owner Dr. Lon Hays, oversee a staff of 27, including four doctors and two associates who are known for their attention to detail.
“We’re cutting edge in terms of general practice,” Martin said. “Really, it’s a lot like human medical care; the key is listening to what the clients need.”
The medical center provides surgery, dental services and radiology in addition to standard exams and vaccinations, and offers boarding and bathing services to its clientele, with a professionally edited inventory of food and other pet products rounding out the offerings.
To Martin, an open dialogue with pet owners is the passage through which he succeeds at his job.
“It’s a cooperative effort between the doctor and the client,” Martin said. “We take advantage of that relationship and are able to provide the best care because of it.”
