Wayne and Julie Scott have been practicing dentistry for more than 20 years. They’ve also had their own practice in Coppell for about that long.

“It’s the ability to help the patients with whatever problems they have and being able to resolve those problems,” Wayne Scott said. “It’s the day-to-day interaction with the patients.”

Scott said he got into dentistry because of his childhood dentist. But dentistry has transformed since then, he said.

“It’s fun, all the things we can do for patients now,” he said. “It’s such a different environment than it used to be. There are alternatives to treatment plans. Solutions are there that didn’t used to be there. It’s a new day, every day.”

Scott said that working with his wife isn’t too bad either. Although, they don’t get to run into each other that often, he said.

“We’re individually working on patients,” he said. “So we don’t really interact. We don’t work on same patient at the same time. It’s actually pretty easy to do.”
