Grace Presbyterian Church was chosen by our readers as this year’s Neighbors Choice award as “Best Place to Worship” for West Planoneighborsgo.
“If you ask members of Grace how they feel about being chosen, they would probably say they feel humbled since our focus is not on ourselves,” said Tammy Toll, a Grace PC member and neighborsgocontributor.
We invited her to tell us more about the church.
- Why do you think Grace Presbyterian was named a Neighbors Choice award winner by our readers?
Grace is a “right-sized” church in that we are large enough to have great opportunities for ministry, yet small enough for you to build relationships with many of the members. Our members will tell you the best thing about Grace is how people are treated like family.
-What do you think this award says about your church?
We hope this recognition affirms how we are making difference in our community. It would be interesting to see how the selections were motivated. Maybe it was our vibrant youth program, our active seniors group, our local mission work or something we don’t even know people recognize.
- Tell us a little about the history of Grace Presbyterian and how long it has been in Plano.
Grace was started in 1980 by Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church in Dallas. Grace has always been located at 4300 W. Park Blvd. and has grown from some small portable buildings to the beautiful facilities you will find on our campus today. Currently we have about 1,000 members, with about 500 in attendance.
- What is the most important thing (or two) for our readers to know about your church?
Our neighbors should know Grace Presbyterian has an unusually strong music program for all ages.
