Collin Creek Mall to hosts Scleroderma Walk-A-Thon at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 27

On Saturday, June 27, The Scleroderma Foundation’s Texas Bluebonnet Chapter will commemorate Scleroderma Awareness Month with its second annual Dallas Stepping Out to Cure Scleroderma walk-a-thon at Collin Creek Mall. The walk-a-thon will begin at 9:00 a.m. and will last approximately one hour.
The event will benefit the programs and services of the Bluebonnet Chapter and help fund medical research aimed at finding the cause and cure for scleroderma, a little-known but devastating autoimmune disease.
Registration will begin at 8:00 a.m. in Center Court, lower level. There is no cost to register, and no minimum sponsorship required to participate. Pre-registration information is available at www.collincreekmall.com under Events.
To assist walkers in registering and signing-up sponsors, the Bluebonnet Chapter has arranged with Firstgiving (www.firstgiving.com/scl-bluebonnet) to provide individualized online pledging pages for each interested participant. In addition to registering online through Firstgiving, walkers and other interested supporters can set up their own personalized fundraising page by selecting the Register Online button.

June is Scleroderma Awareness Month and throughout the month, the Foundation’s national network of 22 chapters and 160 support groups engage in a variety of events all designed to generate greater awareness and understanding of this chronic, debilitating and often fatal disease, as well as to raise much-needed funds to support the work of the Foundation. The Dallas/Fort Worth Stepping Out to Cure Scleroderma walk is just one of more than 40 such events happening throughout the country during June.
