Kids age 13 can now join other teens to "follow the evidence" at Farmers Branch CSI Camp

FARMERS BRANCH ~ More kids than ever can now enter the world of crime scene investigation as teens, ages 13-18, are invited to register for this summer’s CSI Camp through the Community Recreation Center.

Participants will get an up-close look at evidence response and collection, fingerprinting, forensic art, crime scene searches, K-9 involvement, undercover narcotic and SWAT operations, suspect searches in a Police helicopter, bomb detection and detonation, and courtroom trials.

Teens will interact with officials from the Dallas County Medical Examiner Office, Denton County Sheriff's Office, Farmers Branch and Dallas Police Departments, Department of Public Safety, DFW Airport Police, Integrated Forensic Laboratories, and independent search and rescue Blood Hound trainers.

The camp meets at the Farmers Branch Community Recreation Center July 13-17 from 9 a.m. til 5 p.m. Fees for the camp are $50 for Recreation Center members and $65 for non-members and includes a CSI t-shirt and kit. Space is limited. Call 972.247.4607.
