Over the weekend of April 24 and 25, members of Girl Scout Troop 715 held a garage sale at the Stone Hill Farms Community Pool parking lot. The sale was a fundraiser to help pay for a trip to WashingtonDC this summer, and the troop was thrilled with the results –more than double the original goal. Troop leaders commented that everyone that stopped by was overwhelmed by the size of the sale, and many were astonished when everything came together.
“We would like to thank all of their neighbors and friends that donated items and all of the people that shopped the sale,” the leaders said. Special thanks are offered to area businesses that donated items or services, including: Preferred Self Storage of Double Oak, Haggar Clothing Co of Dallas, Venture Research of Plano, Commercial Industrial Liquidation of Burleson, Mardel Christian Bookstore of Lewisville, Stone Hill Farms Homeowners Association and Premier Communities, and the UNT Chapter of Kappa Delta Sorority.
So many individuals donated to the sale, and the troop appreciated help from friends, family, neighbors, fellow Girl Scouts, and others. Unsold items were donated to several charities, including Medina Children’s Home, Goodwill, and Shared Housing.
