3rd annual Sweetheart Ball was memorable for fathers and daughters

0 Ratings / 0 Comments
Chamberlain Performing Arts kicked off its' spring season of special events this past Sunday, February 8 with its' third annual Sweetheart Ball which was held at Stonebridge Ranch Country Club in McKinney.  This event was a father/daughter dance hosted by CPA with a portion of the proceeds benefitting the Wm. Morrie Chamberlain Sr Memorial Scholarship Fund and the numerous outreach programs CPA offers to the community at large.

This year's Ball featured a butterfly theme with the symbol appearing in the table decorations and on commemorative charms which each girl received as a keepsake of the evening.  Music was provided by Daniel Frie of Frisco with Chamberlain students, Aubry Neal and Megan Morgan serving as emcees.  On site photography was provided by Jim Butchee of Lucas.  The guests enjoyed a light buffet of refreshments which included everyone's favorite ice cream sundae bar with Haggen Daz ice cream and a multitude of toppings.  Prizes were awarded by age group throughout the evening and consisted of items such as a porcelain doll's tea set, genuine feather angel wings, and collections of movies with all of the extras for a family movie night.  The Grand Prize, which all attendees were eligible for, was a pair of diamond and sapphire vermeil earrings.  This prize was won by Bianca Burton of McKinney who was attending for the third year with a group of friends from the Chamberlain School of Performing Arts in Plano.

Games of Musical Chairs and line dancing were the order of the evening, and the ever popular Dad's Dance Contest was well represented by eager fathers of all ages.
Beautiful Presentation Roses were available for purchase to aid the Scholarship Fund.  The arrangements were festooned with glittery, gold and pink ribbons put together by Deborah King of Plano.  For the smallest girls, a special Craft Room was available for some quiet time away from the dance floor with Dad.  Guests created tiaras and other valentine decorations as souvenirs.  Brenda Hall of Frisco graciously hosted this feature of the evening.

In keeping with tradition, the last dance of the evening was "Goodnight Sweetheart," which closed out another fabulous event for Chamberlain Performing Arts.
