Last Thursday night, one of my dreams came true. I played football in front of over 20,000 people at Texas Stadium. My team, Showtime Seminoles, played against another team from the PSA sixth grade football league. We played during half time at the Dallas Cowboy pre-season game against the Minnesota Vikings.
We had arrived at Texas Stadium a few hours before the game. We already had our game pants, shirts and shoes on. All we needed was to put on my shoulder pads and helmet to play which we would in the tunnel at the start of the second quarter. The weather on the field was hot and our coaches gave us plenty of water before the game.
Walking through the tunnel is an experience I will never forget. The lights grew brighter and the roar of the crowd was loud! I play center and sometimes I could not hear my quarterback, Miklo, yell out the count. It was so much fun playing at Texas Stadium. The crowd cheered whenever anyone made a good play. The game ended so fast, and when we headed toward the tunnel, the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders were cheering us and telling us that we did great. When we walked throughout the stadium, people were saying “Great Game!” and a few people asked for our autographs. After the game, members of the Minnesota Vikings gave me a wrist band and arm band which I have worn every day since I got it. My teammate, Connor, got gloves from one of the players too. It was a dream come true for me, to play football at Texas Stadium. I hope to play at the new stadium some day.
