The Rowlett Police Department has made two arrests associated with the five recent daytime burglaries that occurred while the homeowners were home. Emmanuel “Chewy” Chukwujeku and Jackson Lee Anthony were both arrested and face charges associated with these crimes, both suspects are residents of Sachse. There have been no other burglaries where the homeowner was present since these arrests.
Emmanuel “Chewy” Chukwujeku b/m 05-05-91, 4300 Maple Shade, Sachse, Texas is charged with Burglary of a Habitation a 2nd degree felony and conspiracy to commit burglary a 3rd degree felony. Chukwujeku assisted in setting up some of the burglaries and shared in the proceeds.
Jackson Lee Anthony b/m 07-06/1990, 3200 Jewell Street, Sachse, Texas is charged with credit card abuse a state jail felony. Anthony is suspected of using a credit card belonging to one of the victims in the recent burglaries.
Both suspects have posted bonds and are awaiting trial.
Other persons of interest have been interviewed and the case is still under investigation. - Install solid core doors, heavy duty locks, and window security devices
- Lock all doors, windows, and garages at all times
- Use four three-inch screws to secure heavy duty lock strike plates in the door frame
- Use the door peephole BEFORE opening the door
- Use your porch light to help you to see clearly outside
- Never rely on a chain-latch as a barrier to partially open the door
- Never open the door to strangers or solicitors
- Call the police if the stranger acts suspicious
- Alert your neighbors to suspicious solicitors
- Hold a family meeting to discuss home security plans
- Set the home perimeter alarm at night, if you have one
- Be cognizant of people or vehicles following you, make a trip around the block first if you are suspicious, call the police department if you are being followed
- Set the perimeter alarm on your home security system if possible, this will alert you of an intruder when you are pre-occupied
