Pet birthday parties are all the rage!My oldest son and his girl friend along with our dogs were invited to birthday party for her sister’s dog.Yes, I said dog!Apparently, pet parties are quite common these days.Even though we have two dogs, Choco and Cleveland, they were only able to take Choco to the party, as Cleveland is very hyperactive.Once Choco left the house, Cleveland became very upset that he wasn’t able to attend as well.He sat down by the front door and wouldn’t move until they returned home.
Meanwhile at the party, each of the party goers arrives with their dog and a gift for the birthday dog.Guests, both human and canine, are given party hats and enjoyed cake and ice cream and other refreshments. So you’re wondering what some of the gifts; some gifts were obvious doggie treats and doggie toys. Other gifts were a doggie t-shirts, a picture frame in the shape of a dog house for the proud parents to display photos and a floor mat with a hand painted image of the dog. At the end of the party each guest was sent home with a doggie bag filled with an assortment of doggie treats.
When Choco arrived home Cleveland was so happy to see him. He licked his face and began to smell him to see where he’d been as another dog day of summer came to a close.
About Choco and Cleveland, they are Chocolate Labrador Retriever brothers and were rescued dogs. Choco is short for Chocolate and Cleveland was named in honor of the Cleveland Browns. They have been part of our family for the past 6 years!
