SPIRE REALTY GROUP AND CAPTAIN HOPE’S KIDS TAKE ART TO THE STREETS

DALLAS — Spire Realty Group is partnering with Captain Hope’s Kids, a nonprofit organization that serves the critical needs of homeless children in North Texas, to bring art from the inside out this summer. On July 18th, fifty children from Captain Hope’s Kids will visit Bryan Tower to receive a lesson in a different kind of art – sidewalk chalk.

This is the fourth in a series of exhibits hosted by Spire as part of their effort to support Dallas arts and the community. By partnering with Captain Hope’s Kids, Spire will have the opportunity to provide a special day for Dallas’ most vulnerable--homeless children.

During the event, local art instructors will give the kids lessons and direction on the art of sidewalk chalk, guiding them as they create summer-themed chalk art masterpieces on the sidewalks surrounding Bryan Tower. Following the hour of art, the children will enjoy lunch at Bryan Tower, after which the children will finish the day by exploring neighboring Nasher Sculpture Center to see the work of professional artists.

“As a building owner and downtown tenant, Spire Realty Group understands the importance of supporting children and the arts,” said Caleb S. Smith, president and owner of Spire Realty Group, L.P “This Summer Sidewalk Chalk Art eventis a new twist on our continuing effort to support the community where we live and work. All of us at Spire are excited about the opportunity to host Captain Hope’s Kids at Bryan Tower and are looking forward to a day filled with fun and art.”

Captain Hope’s Kids is the only agency in North Texas that strives to meet the vital needs of homeless children by actively soliciting donations and funds for their basic needs. The organization collaborates with 40 homeless service providers, ensuring that homeless infants and children through age 17 have the essential items needed to survive and flourish.

“Captain Hope’s Kids is thrilled to be partnering with Spire Realty Group for an event that will give children a new experience and opportunity to discover their artistic talents,” said Jeanne Reyer, executive director of Captain Hope’s Kids. “Our goal is to provide the most vulnerable and forgotten population in our community with both critical necessities and fun activities so they can enjoy just being kids and Spire Realty Group is helping us accomplish this goal.”

All participating children will receive backpacks filled with toys and art supplies, so they can continue developing their artistic talents throughout the summer. Also, for the two weeks leading up to the event, Spire Realty Group’s management office will be collecting school supplies from Bryan Tower tenants for Captain Hope’s Kids. Spire Realty Group’s next art exhibit will be a partnership with the Texas Sculpture Association to celebrate their 25th anniversary this September.
