Brownies Enjoy Twilight Camp

0 Ratings / 0 Comments
Brownies in Troop 8417 from Tom Hicks Elementary in Frisco enjoyed a great week at Twilight Hollow Camp in Plano. Held at Bob Woodruff Park, this year’s theme was Under the Big Top.
Camp was a great experience for these Brownie Girl Scouts. Girls participated in archery, learning fun camp songs and making crafts. Girls also chose what circus programs that they wanted to learn about. Juggling, making balloon animals and the science of circus food topped their list. Learning about circus food also meant getting to eat lots of cotton candy. Yummy!
Twilight camp was held in each evening, which meant there was always time to catch some fireflies. Time was also spent trading S.W.A.P.S. with other campers and reading mail that was delivered each night to the girls. Campers also did their part to help out by donating canned goods for a local food bank. But weary campers were able to rest their heads in their own bed at night.
And no camp is without their chores and Twilight Hollow is exception. These campers helped cleaned up water stations, get information from camp meetings, deliver mail and were honored by doing the flag down ceremony.
One night was dedicated to cooking out. These girls had a great time roasting hot dogs, making lemonade and of course making and eating S’mores. They built the fire on their own and also did the clean up.
Camp was a great experience for this Brownie troop and one they will never forget.
