In 1963, James W. and Virgie Adams fired up the grill and opened the door to the Metro Diner in Preston Center. Since then, the Metro has been continuously operated as a family owned diner. We have been honored and privileged to serve breakfast and burgers to the Preston Center area for over 45 years. Due to the sale of the property, we will be closing in late August, 2008.
We will continue to serve the same great fare at our Metro Diner located at 3309 Gaston Ave. (across the street from Baylor Hospital) that serves up breakfast and burgers 24 hours a day. We hope to continue to serve you there or at one of our other Dallas locations:
Wayne’s Beckley Grill (1619 N. Beckley Ave, Dallas)
Pitt Grill (2316 W. Davis St., Dallas)
When you are on the road, visit us at:
The Caddo Pancake House (I-30 E. at FM 1903 in Caddo Mills, Texas)
Pitt Grill (I-30 in Sulphur Springs, Texas)
We have been richly blessed with an exceptional staff over the years, many staying with us for many years. Rest assured, they will have opportunities to continue to serve our customers at another location.
We have seen children and grandchildren of our original customers come in to the diner and share wonderful memories with us. The Metro, a Preston Center Institution, will go out with a bang! Watch for some great specials and price rollbacks during August and an opportunity for you to own a piece of the Metro.
