The Castle Hills community of Lewisville is pleased to be the sponsors of the “Hammering in the Hills” initiative. Hammering in the Hills will work in collaboration with Dallas area Habitat for Humanity to build two homes this fall. In the past, sponsors have been churches and corporations, the Castle Hills homes will mark the first ever community sponsored Habitat effort. The neighborhood is committed to raise $140,000 to build these 2 homes and fundraising is well underway. This effort kicked off earlier this year with the Castle Hills Business Association hosting a charity golf tournament. Fund raising will continue through September with the hopes that every home in Castle Hills will be proudly displaying their support for this project. In addition to raising funds, 500 Castle Hills’ residents will volunteer their time to help build this dream. Construction on these homes will begin September 27 with a wall raising celebration in Castle Hills and will continue for 8 consecutive Saturdays in the southeast Dallas Joppa neighborhood.
