Melvin & Jim May married on the same day back on May 31, 1958 and now they are celebrating their 50th anniversary together.  Melvin "Buddy" May & Fern Paty were married at 2 PM at the home of her parents and at 8 PM that evening, Jim May & Nancy Apel Wood were married at the home of her parents.  They didn't intend to but they ended up spending their honeymoon together in Corpus Christi and have spent many anniversaries toghether over the years.

They celebrated their 50th anniversary by taking a trip together, going up to Lake City, MN and spending a week in a condo overlooking Lake Pepin on the Mississippi River.  They toured all the little historic towns on both sides of the river  in the area, crossing in and out of Minnesota & Wisconsin quite a few times.  When the week was up, they headed west into S. Dakota and toured the Badlands National Park, an 1880 town, Mt. Rushmore, Deadwood and many other places. They were gone about sixteen days and had a great time and hope to spend many more anniversaries together.
