The Visual Art League of Lewisville Artist of the Month is Margaret Smith.

 

Flower Mound resident Meg Smith has been a member of the Visual Art League of Lewisville since 1995, and has served on the Board of Directors for the last 3 years.  Although her day job as a Research Associate at UT Southwestern Medical Center keeps her very busy, she has pursued her artistic interests with classes and workshops with Highland Village artist Gay Kelly (pastel), Barbara Hack at the Flower Mound ArtHouse studio (figure drawing) and currently with the award-winning watercolorist Michael Bales at the VAL gallery on Thursday nights.

 

She says, "I strive to capture the emotion of a scene or portrait, and hopefully convey that feeling to resonate with the viewer." 

 

What she doesn't say about herself is that she works very hard for the good of the League, and does about every job imaginable where need be.

Meg received the GLAC Angel Award in 2006 representing the Visual Art League of Lewisville.
