Classique jewelry store was voted by our readers the winner of this year’s Neighbors Choice Award as “Best Jewelry Store” for the edition covering Frisco and Little Elm.
Maine transplants Bob and Diane Sirois, owners of Classique jewelry store, share the ins and outs of their business and what it has been like living and working in Frisco for the past 10 years.
We came to Frisco because: Bob had worked here before for another jeweler and we loved it here.
We came from: Maine.
Classique jewelers used to be: In the Albertson’s Plaza but we moved because we outgrew that spot.
Family: Son Craig and daughter-in-law Nicole. One grandson and another due in September
Hometown: Bob is from Frenchville, Maine, and Diane is from Madawasha, Maine. They now live and work in Frisco.
What we like about Frisco: The people are very friendly. It still has a small town feel to it and you don’t have to leave the city to get what you want or need.
Our customers come from: All over North Texas — Frisco, Little Elm, Plano, Dallas and even Pilot Point
Our customers like: Our customer service. We don’t send gold-repair work out. We have Kevin Burks who has been with us for 10 years who does our repair work. Nothing leaves here. Even our appraisals are done at the stores.
Unique services: Diane restrings pearls and ear-piercing is done at the store.
Hobbies and interests: Diane does scrapbooking and makes jewelry for herself. Bob collects wines. Together they attend jewelry shows twice a year. While there, they participate in jewelry workshops and seminars.
Members of: Retailers Jewelry Organization and the Independent Jewelers Organization. Diane is a member of the Frisco Business and Professional Women’s group and is a former president of that organization. She is now treasurer of the State of Texas’ BPW. Bob is a member of the Knights of Columbus and both attend St. Francis of AssisiChurch in Frisco.
What do you like about your work: “To me, it’s a passion. I have been doing it for over 35 years and it’s fun,” said Bob.
How do you work together: We enjoy it. It’s not a chore going to work. We look forward to it. We have great, loyal customers.
What we do for the community: Every year we take part in the FriscoFamilyServicesCenter fundraiser by donating jewelry to help with that. Also we give watches to the Frisco police and firemen who receive yearly awards from the police and fire departments.
