Farra, lead pastor at North Point Christian Church in Lewisville, may be kidding, but only slightly. A “high premium” on having fun and focusing on youth are reasons why readers chose North Point as Best Place to Worship in Southern Denton County.
“We’re always laughing. You either like us or you don’t,” Farra said of the nondenominational church that features louder-than-norm and eclectic worship songs. But that’s no reason to fear a church that dances to its own beat.
“We take God’s word seriously,” Farra said. “We just package it differently.”
Farra said he thinks people who are disenchanted with church find North Point’s look and feel refreshing.
“We’re willing to do some things differently. Anybody we can reach, we will.”
North Point isn’t a place where you can be just a face in the crowd, inside or outside of church walls. The more than 200 church members are active and want to create genuine friendships. They also provide services to the community, such as tutoring LISD students and assisting neighbors in need through Project Connect.
“It’s great to be God’s family in the heart of downtown Lewisville,” said Farra. “I love the feel of the city. [North Point members] are at our best when we’re serving.”
Amen to that.
