And that’s how owner Louis Velez Jr. likes it. His mother and the restaurant’s founder, Angelina, opened one of the first Mexican restaurants in the area. And now it’s an established home for fans of Tex-Mex and the extended Velez family, who also operate locations in The Colony and Corinth.
“We offer a family environment,” Velez Jr. said. “Everybody is family and all customers are special.”
Adriana Luna, manager and Velez’s daughter, echoed that sentiment.
“We know when regulars are coming in,” said Luna. “We have their favorite tables ready for them on Fridays and notice when they’re not here.”
Velez says big-taste plates for a blue-collar price make Angelina’s special.
“We’re not in it to make multi-millions like the chains,” Velez said. “We’re not raising our prices. A family of four can have a meal for $40.”
And those loyal customers keep on coming home.
