Balch Springs Board goes back to School!
On May 23rd, the entire 4B Economic Development Corporation for the City of Balch Springs went to
training to learn how to better serve the citizens . The
4B Board is made of of 7 volunteers appointed by the City Council.
They are ask to make decisions on how to spend some of the tax money that
the city receives. The money must be spent on Economic Development and
or Quality of Life issues. Some past project include the Library
Learning Center, Guy Berry Soccer Complex, The Gazebo by the Civic Center,
improvements at Irwin Park and the New Jack in the Box and Washington
Mutual Bank. The Board is also helping to maintain the City's Parks.
The training was sponsored by Texas Economic Development Cooperation
and was a full day of information. Miranda Roundtree said it was great
to learn and have guidance on the projects that we can and can not fund.
Christi Steele was impressed the whole board was able to attend, most
had to take a vacation day. The Board is now planning a workshop to
plan for the next year.
If you have any questions or comments concerning the 4B EDC, please
feel free to call the office 972-913-9004. If you would like to
volunteer, visit City Hall to pick up an application.
