The Hudson Middle School 7^th grade team, along with Coach Deborah Hightower, met at Williams Stadium in Garland at 6:00 a.m. Saturday, April 26^th for the almost two hour bus ride to the regional competition in Hillsboro.  Students kept themselves busy on the long ride by singing, studying, and reading.  Two Hudson 7^th grade students, Heather Hambelton and Gaven Edmonds came on the trip as student observers.

      It had been a long, busy day for students when the awards were announced at 4:00 p.m.  The 7^th grade team placed 3^rd in the “Top Team” category.  Top Team is awarded for the highest score in all areas:  Super Quiz, Novel Essay, Social Studies, Science and Math.  Team members were:  Alec Edwards, Breanna Bowie, Michelle Chun, Gina Quiasua, Hannah McNeal, Charlotte Ernst, William Arnold, Cheyanne Freeman, and Florentino Rodriguez.  Two students also received individual awards.  Alec Edwards received 3^rd place in Social Studies and Gina Quiasua received 3^rd place in Essay.
