During the renovations, there may be temporary disruptions in service. Staff will be available to assist users or refer them to one of the other Garland Libraries. Programs, including the Summer Reading Program for children, teens and adults will be held as scheduled.
The South Garland Branch project is part of the ongoing minor renovations planned for Garland libraries. In June 2007, North Garland Branch Library received a fresh look complete with a coffee vending area, a “Kids Korner,” group study rooms, paint, carpet, and new furniture. In January 2008, the Faces of Garland READ Banners were placed on the outside of the Central Library in Downtown Garland. Furniture was reupholstered at the Ridgewood Branch Library and the Walnut Creek Branch is scheduled to have carpeting replaced in late May.
