974 Years of Ministry honored by Christian Care Centers, Inc.

Christian Care Centers, Inc. honored sixteen North Texas men for their 50 years of services as ministers of the Gospel at a reception following the 2nd annual "North Texas Praise and Unity Worship" at the Garland Event Center.

The veteran ministers, each of who has preached for fifty-plus years, represented 974 years of ministry in churches of Christ in North Texas.  Two senior proclaimers of the Gospel for 70-plus years of preaching were honored.  Perry Cotham had the longest tenure as a minister.  Mr. Cotham has been preaching the Gospel for 79 years.

The men honored were:  Perry Cotham (79 years), Juan Villa (70 years), Boyd Taylor (69 years), Adair P. Chapman (68 years), Arnold Hardin (67 years), Gus Eoff (66 years), Hardeman Nichols (62 years), Harold G. Taylor (58 years), Dr. J.C. Davis (57 years), Robert K. Oglesby Sr. (55 years), Johnny Luker (55 years), Miguel Bustillos (55 years), Maurice Neathery (55 years), Jack Evans (54 years), Brian Teagle (53 years), and Jose Suarez (51 years).

Three of the ministers being honored are part of the Christian Care Centers family.  Dr. J.C. Davis is a chaplain on the Campus of Christian Care Center in Mesquite.  Johnny Luker is a resident at Hartin Apartments on the Mesquite Campus.  Brian Teagle is the former minister of the Christian Care Center Church of Christ in Mesquite, Texas.  Not in attendance that evening, George Bailey has been a minister for 72 years.  Mr. Bailey was away holding a Gospel Meeting and was unable to attend the event.  Mr. Bailey is a resident of Greenway Village at Christian Care Center, Mesquite.

Christian Care Centers, Inc. a not-for-profit ministry of churches of Christ in North Texas, has provided 61 years of continuing care services to senior adults within retirement communities of Gunter, Texas, Fort Worth, Texas and Mesquite, Texas.  This ministry began to provide housing and care for retired ministers of the Gospel.  Christian Care Centers salutes these heroes of the faith.  We remain true to our mission as we serve those who minister and serve others.
