Excite gymnast Compete in TAAF State
My daughter is one of the gymnast that competed in this meet this past weekend. I am proud of the team and wanted to get the word out to the FM neighbors.
"These girls sure have come a long way since starting their new level in September. In only seven months they have become top caliber gymnasts at their level in Texas. Sometimes they compete against girls who have been at this level for many years and they are holding their own and in fact coming out as the winner against some much more expierienced gymnasts," said Kevin Bates a Team Coach and Director of Gymnastics at Excite.

It was a great State Championships for Highland Villages own Excite Gymnastics and Cheer! Excite was competing in the Texas Amateur Athletic Federation (TAAF) Championships on Saturday May third In Garland. Included in those competing from Excite were Haley Bynum age 11, Rachel Confer age 9, Rebecca Lytle age 10, and Haley O Connor age 8. All the girls placed in the top 10 on at least one event. With several placing in the top five on specific events and even in the all around competition including Haley O Connor who finished with a bronze medal in the all-around for her division! These girls are working out four days a week to try to become the best they can be in the sport of gymnastics simply because they love being involved with their team and in, what is considered to be one of the most difficult sports in the world, the sport of gymnastics.
