St. John's Students Jump Rope for Heart

1 Rating / 0 Comments
St. John’s LowerSchool students raised more than $10,000 in April for the American Heart Association by participating in Jump Rope for Heart. The program, sponsored by American Heart and the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance, engages students in a physical activity while raising funds to support life-saving heart and stroke research.

St. John’s physical education teacher Janet Kelly awarded a limousine ride and lunch to the four students who raised the most money during the week-long drive: Ben Kraus (kindergarten), Ethan Lilly (second grade), Sean Kraus (third grade) and Mateo Means (third grade).

Mrs. Turner’s fourth grade and Mrs. Mayo’s third grade classes were treated to ice cream sundae parties for having the most participants (100% by Mrs. Turner’s class) and raising the most donations per student (Mrs. Mayo’s class).

St. John’s students have raised nearly $70,000 for American Heart in the 10 years St. John’s has participated in Jump Rope for Heart.
