What the Priority Thinks about their Football Mom

2 Ratings / 3 Comments

It's up on the bulletin board right behind my computer...this photo of me and my kids with 'The Priority' written above it. While not as perfect as I’d like to be, I want my children to know they are more important than Mommy’s football or reading a book.

Nearly sick all nine months of each pregnancy, I struggled to bring them into the world. We even had a near death experience at my daughter’s birth. She got stuck in the birth canal resulting in a brachial plexus injury and paralysis in her left arm.

When I quit my counseling job, two years ago, I knew being a stay-at-home Mom was the right choice for me…no regrets!

The time with these kids is short, precious, and goes by too fast. I’m already finding I can’t do all the ideas I have in my head to do with them…I don’t have all the time I wish I had to teach them and mold their character.

Just reviewing the pictures they wanted to put with this story, ignited a regret I’m currently having…print some pictures and put them up in their rooms!! Let them enjoy them while they are still at home.

____________

Here is what ‘The Priority’ thinks and these are their words:

My name is McKenna. My Mom is not just a Supermom, she is a super football player. She is strong. She does not give up.

When she spends time with me, it feels like she really loves me. I like to box braid with my Mom. And, I like to pray and read the Bible with her. I know she loves me because she takes care of me.

I want to be like my Mom. She is a strong Christian and she is pretty. She is as sweet as a rose and as strong as a bullet.

My name is Joshua. I want to be a football player like my Mom. She is a good athlete. And, she likes to do things I like to do. When I go to my Mom’s football game, I always want Mom to go in on the field and get an interception.

I never knew that my Mom would play football. It is a really good feeling.

She is just the best Mom I can ever imagine.

____________

Thanks McKenna and Joshua. I feel loved! And, geez, how many son's can say, 'I want to be a football player like my Mom.'
