Cross Timbers Classic Bike Ride to Benefit Flower Mound Rotary Projects

WHAT: 21st Annual Cross Timbers Classic bike ride Fundraising event for the Flower Mound Rotary. New this year: On Track Campout on Friday night; riders and spectators are invited to enjoy family and fun for $20 per camp site.

WHEN: Saturday, May 17, 2008. 100-mile ride begins at 7:30 a.m. The 50-mile and 30-mile rides begin at 8 a.m. The 10-mile and the Family Classic 2-mile begin at 8:30 a.m. Recommended time for media: 7 – 8:30 a.m.

WHERE: Texas Motor Speedway, 3545 Lone Star Circle, Ft. Worth, TX 76177. Riders start at Texas Motor Speedway with a lap around the famous infield.

ENTRY: Pre-registration fee is $25 and must be postmarked no later than May 10, 2008. After May 10, the fee is $30. Children 8 years old and under are free.Race day registration begins at 6:30 a.m.; no pre-ride packet pickups. T-shirts will be available the day of the race while supplies last. WHY: Funds raised from the event will provide support for local Flower Mound Rotary grants and Rotary International sponsored projects.

About The Cross Timbers Classic: Since it began 21 years ago, the Cross Timbers Classic has become well-known for its beautiful, rural courses which include 100-, 50-, 30-, and 10-mile rides. The courses use residential streets and country roads with rolling hills; drinks, water and fruit will be provided at rest stops on the course. Riders, friends and family members can enjoy finish line festivities including music, free refreshments and youth activities.
