FARMERS BRANCH ~ Fine, four-footed friends will be feted on Sunday, April 27 with an event entitled “Give ‘Em Shelter,” designed to feature local pets and support the soon-to-be-built Farmers Branch Animal Adoption Center.

The event is set from 12 noon til 5 p.m. at Gussie Field Watterworth Park near Farmers Branch City Hall. In addition to showcasing adoptable puppies, dogs, kittens and cats from the Farmers Branch Animal Shelter, the event will feature a silent auction and $10 microchipping of pets for identification purposes and $10 rabies shots available. There will also be clowns, dog flyball demonstrations, face painting, a dog masseuse, working dogs showing their stuff and a special guest appearance by Chuck the Duck.

Parking and admission are both free. Concessions will be available and donations will be accepted to benefit the new shelter. For more information, call 972-247-4607.
