On Thursday, April 17, 2008, the Creekview High School Mustang Band competed at the Festival Disney competition in Orlando, Florida in conjunction with their annual spring band trip. The Symphonic II, Symphonic I, and Wind Symphony ensembles all performed for a panel of three nationally acclaimed adjudicators in a competition with some of the most outstanding bands in the country. All three groups were recognized for outstanding performances at Hollywood Studios on Saturday, April 19. The Creekview High School Wind Symphony placed fourth overall in this highly competitive event.
On Saturday, April 18, 2008, the Mustang Jazz Ensemble competed in the same competitive event. The group was also recognized on Saturday with several awards, including the “Best in Class” award for their division and the coveted “Bronze” Disney Award for placing third in the overall competition.
This event marks the end of the Mustang Band's competitive concert season. The band’s end of the year spring concert will be on May 13, 2008 in the Creekview High School Auditorium. Congratulations again to our outstanding band students for a job well done!
