On Saturday, 8 March 2008, Sam JohnsonChapter 270 of the Korean War Veterans Association (KWVA) recognized its volunteers.  In a special ceremony, KWVA Director Marvin Dunn handed out plaques and certificates to twelve local chapter  members who had volunteered over one hundred hours at the Dallas VA Hospital in 2007.  The event took place in the Richardson Senior Center during Sam Johnson Chapter 270’s March meeting. 

Chapter President J. D. Randolph led all chapter volunteers with 565 volunteer hours.  Director Dunn presented Chapter President Randolph of Allen with a plaque in recognition for his 565 volunteer hours.

The Sam Johnson Chapter meets monthy at 2:00 pm on the second Saturday at the Richardson Senior Center, 820 W. Arapaho.

Any military veteran who has ever served in Korea or who served anywhere else during the Korean War era (June 25, 1950 through January 31, 1955) is eligible for membership. Call Glen Thompson 972-279-7000 for information.
