Mockingbird students perform in the Wax Museum of Famous American’s music program.
What a great bunch of famous Americans there are in the second grade at Mockingbird Elementary.
Students recently enjoyed a three-week biography unit study, which included reading, researching, using a time-line program and different Internet sites in the computer lab, writing poems and speech writing and ended with a fun and informative culminating activity: The Wax Museum of Famous Americans.
The day started in the gym with a patriotic musical presentation led by music teacher, Pam Carroll. After that, the parents and students were invited to see and listen to speeches about many famous Americans as they went to each of the four classes' wax museums. Each child dressed like a famous American and memorized a speech reciting facts about the person they researched.
The Mockingbird second grade teachers are: Sherry Lupton, Tracy Sena, Amy Praytor, and Holly Chaka.
