The Coppell High School Lariettes won numerous awards at the Showmakers Texas State Championships in San Marcos over the February 29th weekend. The Officers received the highest award of Line of Champion. They also received the Judges award and Sweepstakes award for scoring above 90 points in 3 routines. In addition, they received Outstanding Showmanship and Highest Choreography scores for Lyrical, Jazz and Novelty. The Officers did an outstanding job and it showed as they also received the Best in Novelty routine. Their Lyrical routine earned them runner up for Best in Lyrical, Best in Technique and Best in Precision. Their Jazz routine earned 3rd place for best in Category and the Officers received 3rd place in Best in Class overall.

The Lariette team also did an outstanding job receiving the top honor of Line of Champion. They too received the Judges award and Sweepstakes award. The team received Best in Choreography, Technique and Precision for their Pom and Kick routines. They also received the Best Showmanship for their Jazz, Kick and Lyrical routines. The Jazz routine also was awarded the runner up for Best in Jazz.

Several of our Lariettes made the soloist finals; they include Lauren Halsey, Lauren McCarty, Caroline Cauley and Meridith Weaver. Lauren Halsey also placed 4th overall in the competition for her solo routine.

The Lariettes have worked hard this contest season and their efforts have earned them high marks. They have two additional contests to attend, with the National contest to be held in Ft. Worth this year.
