Ford Mustangs 8th Grade Boys Basketball - District Champs!

Back to Back

The Ford Mustangs 8th grade boy’s basketball  A team won the regular season and District Championships this past weekend.  This is the first time the Ford Boys have won back to back championships.  Going into the tournament ranked # 1, the Mustangs won all 3 of their games in convincing fashions.  Against Wylie McMillan, a stingy Mustang defense only allowed 21 points in a 53- 21 victory.  Then the Mustangs dominated their cross town rival Ereckson Huskies with the final score of  51-32.  The finals matched up the # 1 ranked Mustangs with the # 2 ranked Rockwall Williams team.  The # 2 ranked Williams team was no match for the super charged Mustangs.  The final score was 53-30.  These dominating performances gave the 8th grade boy’s basketball team their first undefeated regular season and district championship.   Outstanding play was put forth by all of the mustangs.  The Champion Mustangs were: Tony Adams, Jacob Rothbauer, Jake Thompson, CT Aniyam, Justin Harris, Tyler Shrum, Christian Pena, Alex Miller, Brandyn Bolling, Darius Parker, and Chris Hudson.

Coach Campbell and Coach Arledge are both very proud of the efforts put forth by all of the boy’s teams this year in the 8th grade.  Their overall record was 32 – 3.  The C team won a 3rd place trophy, the B team won a second place trophy and the A team won a first place trophy and were regular season and district champions.
