At the recent Allen Special Olympics annual celebration event, the Allen Kiwanis Club was awarded the Special Angel Among Us Award in recognition of their support over the years.Lisa Cochell, president of Allen Kiwanis, accepted the award for the club.

 

Special Olympics provides year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.Kiwanis has supported the program financially and by providing volunteers for the annual fund raising auction.

 

Special Olympics athletes train intensely prior to each sports competition.Every participant is recognized and receives a medal or ribbon following the event.Kiwanis has been a major supporter of the Allen Special Olympics program.
