FMHS French students competed in the North Texas Area French Competition Fête Française on Saturday, February 23 at Wylie High School.  FMHS won many awards and earned 3rd Place School Sweepstakes.  Level 2 winners were:  Colton Asing – 3rd Dramatic Scene, Madi Hack – 1st Mardi Gras Mask, Kendall Keane – 3rd Dramatic Scene, Calli Lynch – 1st Memorized Poetry, Shannon Marquese – 3rd Memorized Poetry, Ashley Tooke – 1st Poster, and Josh Yun – 1st Sight Reading, 2nd Piano. Level 3 winners were:  Kristina Kave – 1st Memorized Poetry, 3rd Guided Speaking, Brendan Keane – 1st Comic Strip, Carissa Medley – 3rd Memorized Poetry, Lyndsee Mummey – 2nd Color Photography, and Alex Webb – 1st Black & White Photography.  Level 4 winners were:  Lauren Eatwell – 2nd Painting, Arsany Gadallah – 1st Read Poetry, Shannon Hart – 2nd Memorized Prose, Elizabeth Hooks – 3rd Culture Test, 3rd Dramatic Scene, Caitlin Moore – 2nd Culture Test, 3rd Dramatic Scene, Paloma Rebolleda – 2nd Video Skit, and Ian Watson – 1st Vocabulary Test, 2nd Culture Test, 3rd Music Video, 2nd Place Individual Sweepstakes Level 4.  Level 6 winners in the Advantaged Speaker category were: Nina Rebolleda – 2nd Read Prose, 2nd Video Skit, 3rd Read Poetry, 3rd Vocabulary Test, 3rd Sweepstakes Advantaged Speaker and Sheila Yu – 1st Read Prose, 1st Composition, 2nd Read Poetry, 2nd Sight Reading, 2nd Video Skit, 2nd Individual Sweepstakes Advantaged Speaker.  FMHS French Teachers are DeLynn Denton and Megan Diercks.  Megan Diercks is the AATF Vice-President in charge of Special Events and thus coordinated the Fête Française competition.
