After a BA in journalism at Texas Tech I worked at the Snyder Daily News, returned to Garland, married and had three children. Interests: Books, books, books.Family, Texas history, flowers, birds, nature generally. I read cookbooks but don't cook much now. Tracking families in Garland, newcomers and old timers.

Favorite Sports Teams: Serena's tennis. Watch some Cowboys, not too closely.
Interesting things for other users to know: I'm a breast cancer survivor and clinical depression survivor--so far. I have one brother, Bill Holmes, who lives in Garland. Our son died in 1992 of lung cancer, age 36. One daughter and son-in-law, Meg and Larry Walls, live in Hunt County. I live
