Interests: Human genetics, quantum physics & cosmology, ancient history (steppe nomads, other barbarians), Arthurian legends ... OK. OK. Travel, writing, archery, poker, jazz/blues/rock/punk/classical/American Indian-flute music, impressionist/cubist art.
Favorite Sports Teams: My son's soccer team. Newcastle United. NASCAR. The New Jersey Devils, Johnstown Jets and Charlestown Chiefs. The Conemaugh Valley Blue Jays, Pitt Panthers and Columbia Lions.
Interesting things for other users to know: Dallas native, neighborsgo assistant managing editor, Richardson/Lake Highlands/Far North Dallas section editor. Formerly amateur competitive bicyclist. I love Jane Austen's "Pride and Prejudice" and Edgar Allan Poe.
Favorite Movies: Kurosawa - Seven Samauri, The Hidden Fortress, Throne of Blood, Kagemusha, Ran, etc.; Lawrence of Arabia, Kingdom of Heaven, Gladiator and King Arthur; many sports movies; Bogart, Henry Fonda, Eastwood and Hepburn (Katherine and Audrey) movies.
Favorite TV Shows: Gordon Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmares - U.S. and British versions; Hell's Kitchen; Top Chef; Anthony Bourdaine's No Reservations; Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives ... Deal or No Deal and Survivor (guilty pleasures).
