Dr. Nancy Remp Smith will offer a free lecture to the public on “The Mystery of Vampires,” drawn from her extensive research on the subject, on Thursday, November 5, 2009 at 7 PM in the Dulaney Room of the Roy and Helen Hall Memorial Library. She will discuss the development of the vampire archetype and how it came to be popular, the romance and folklore of vampires, scientific investigations into their reality, and the literature of vampires. She’ll also speak about the popularity of Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight series as well as the depiction of vampires in Japanese Manga. Nancy Remp Smith holds a Ph.D. in Philosophy of Religion from Southern Methodist University and has taught World Religions, History of Religions, Ethics, and Contemporary Religious Problems at Brookhaven College and the Collin County Community College District. FMHS Drumline Dinner and a Show The Flower Mound High School Drumline will host their 3rd annual Dinner and a Show at 7:00pm on Thursday, November 5th in the FMHS cafeteria. The spaghetti dinner is catered by Salerno's and is followed by a performance of the 2009 Drumline show along with selected solo performances.
