PURPLESTRIDE DFW 2009 The Dallas and Ft. Worth affiliates of the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network will hold their first annual PurpleStride DFW run event to raise money for pancreatic cancer research. The event will take place on November 15 at scenic Meadowmere Park in Grapevine. There will be a timed 5K run/walk for adults and a 1 mile fun run for children.
Online registration is available at www.pancan.org/purplestrideDFW09. Entry fees are $25 for adults and $10 for children ages 12 and under. In addition to the run/walk, there will be refreshments, music, a raffle, grape-stomping and children’s activities. Online registration will be available until November 12 at 5:00p.m. CST, but participants must sign up by October 31 to be guaranteed an event t-shirt.

Pet Fair '09 Please join us for Pet Fair, the largest interspecies adoption & pet educational event in the city! The event is held at East Lake Pet Orphanage. 8th Annual Pet Fair will give deserving pets a second chance! The event is scheduled rain or shine on Sunday, November 15, 2009, from 11 am to 3 pm. Strega Nona: The Musical "Strega Nona: The Musical" is based on the children's books by Tomie dePaola. It is the musical tale of a friendly magical witch with a funny name who strives to cure the ills of her tiny Italian town of Calabria. The town faces real problems when a local lug named Big Anthony sneaks a peek at Strega Nona's magic book and uses it for selfish means. When Anthony fools with Strega Nona's magic pot, pasta threatens to engulf the whole town- unless this friendly witch can save the day.
