PURPLESTRIDE DFW 2009
The Dallas and Ft. Worth affiliates of the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network will hold their first annual PurpleStride DFW run event to raise money for pancreatic cancer research. The event will take place on November 15 at scenic Meadowmere Park in Grapevine. There will be a timed 5K run/walk for adults and a 1 mile fun run for children.
Online registration is available at www.pancan.org/purplestrideDFW09. Entry fees are $25 for adults and $10 for children ages 12 and under. In addition to the run/walk, there will be refreshments, music, a raffle, grape-stomping and children’s activities. Online registration will be available until November 12 at 5:00p.m. CST, but participants must sign up by October 31 to be guaranteed an event t-shirt.

Pet Fair '09
Please join us for Pet Fair, the largest interspecies adoption & pet educational event in the city! The event is held at East Lake Pet Orphanage. 8th Annual Pet Fair will give deserving pets a second chance! The event is scheduled rain or shine on Sunday, November 15, 2009, from 11 am to 3 pm. Goals for Pet fair include:
· Informing the public about the importance of spay and neutering, micro-chipping and wellness care for all species of pets.
· Engaging the community in efforts to reduce the euthanasia rate and increase adoptions.

CCA OPEN HOUSE FOR PROSPECTIVE FAMILIES
On Sunday, November 15, at 2 p.m., Carrollton Christian Academy warmly welcomes prospective families to its “Open House for Prospective Families.” This event will begin with an introduction to CCA, which will then be followed by personal tours of the campus (hosted by CCA students) and time to visit with and ask questions of faculty in the classrooms and also view curricula. "Strega Nona: The Musical" is based on the children's books by Tomie dePaola. It is the musical tale of a friendly magical witch with a funny name who strives to cure the ills of her tiny Italian town of Calabria. The town faces real problems when a local lug named Big Anthony sneaks a peek at Strega Nona's magic book and uses it for selfish means. When Anthony fools with Strega Nona's magic pot, pasta threatens to engulf the whole town- unless this friendly witch can save the day.

Silver Serenaders Concert
