St. Barnabas Presbyterian Church will hold its 6th Annual Health Fair on Saturday, August 20, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the church, 1220 W. Belt Line Road in Richardson.
Partnering once again with Richardson High School nurses, the planning committee realizes the importance of sharing with our community health and safety information, specific resources and access to health care workers. RHS nurse Kathleen Keys explains, “We recruit wellness and safety providers whose purpose is to empower people to find the resources they need to take responsibility for their own well-being.”
Free school immunizations for children eligible for Medicaid or Children's Health Insurance Plan (CHIP), “Ask the Doctor,” cholesterol and blood pressure check, body mass index, hearing and vision tests, CHIP enrollment, dental health, and bike helmets will be featured again this year. Other information booths include:
Disaster Preparedness – Medical Reserve Corps of Dallas
Genesis Women’s Outreach information
Ask the Pediatrician – Dr. Daphne Favroth, Clinic for Family Health & Wellness
Poison Control – North Texas Poison Center
The Warren House – Resource for children with special needs and/or developmental delays
Movement Disorders – Presbyterian Hospital – problems experienced by children and adults alike
This Health Fair is for the whole community, regardless of age or economic status.
