Farmers Branch resident, Elizabeth "Sissy" Bingham and her sister, Lynn Reagan attended the official unveiling of the IHOBF Action for the Arts Visual Art Project: Music and Imagination is Under Way.  The "Sister's in Art" collaborated with 11 other artists from various backgrounds: artists, sculptures, singers and Foundation members to bring this piece to life.

We would like to thank Nazanin Fatermian, IHOBF Dallas Program Manager, lead adult panel artist Mande Baysinger (fused glass) and Emmanuel Gillespie who designed the peice of work.  Without their vision this could not have been pulled off--thank about it--13 adult artists in one room working on one 2x3 foot panel in 5 mediums-and no feathers were ruffled.

The project brought together community members from across the metroplex from students, teachers and adults to bring vision to 5 panels with different styles and mediums.  The adult group consisted of members from the Texas Sculpture Association, Creative Art Center and Foundation Members.  The other artists included, Jessica Burnham-Hinton (metal works), Deana Hinchcliff (leather works),Heather and Paul Pennington (textile works), Lisa Linehan, Melissa Wackerle, Bo Mikolajczyk, Abby Elstad, Lindsay and Ron Sexton.

The other 4 panels were created by Emmanuel Gillespie, Booker T Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts, Greenhill School and the Thomas J. Rusk Middle School.  This permanent collaborative piece of work will be enjoyed by all for many years to come.

The "Sister's in Art" next events will be at the White Rock East Dallas Garden/Artists Tour on May 23rd and a joint studio exhibition at the Manske Library in Farmers Branch, TX.  AB Rockin Artists Studio and t. lee studio Presents: The Branch Comtemporaries Exhibition from June 26th through July 30th.  Opening reception will be June 27th (1:30 pm - 4:00 pm)
