C-FB ISD's Sheffield Intermediate Leadership Academy Learns Lessons of Leadership

0 Ratings / 0 Comments

Third, fourth and fifth grade students in the Sheffield Intermediate Leadership Academy learned valuable insights about leadership from Dr. Wright Lassiter, Chancellor of the Dallas County Community College District recently.

Dr. Lassiter spoke with the students about the qualities of a strong leader like good communication skills, problem solving and having a healthy self esteem.  He also encouraged the students to be risk-takers.  His insights into leadership also included being prepared whether for school or for the future as well as setting goals for future achievements.

Students were also able to interact with Dr. Lassiter quizzing him on his leadership style,  biographical information and his own road to success.

Dr. Charles Cole, assistant superintendent for student, family and community services in the Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD (C-FB ISD) said, "The Leadership Academy at Sheffield Intermediate allows our students valuable opportunities to interact and learn from successful leaders like Dr. Lassiter.  These opportunities are making a positive difference in the lives of our students."
