I read about a memoirist who studied her journals for two and a half years to look for major themes to write about. Yikes! I hope to speed up that process.

Then she wrote a 700 page book that had to be edited down, a little. Encouraging actually to know that this task has many paths to success and although mine may begin on a dirt road through a cornfield in Minnesota it will hopefully end up on a quiet path through the woods of success, location to be determined.

My feet are tired so tomorrow it's back to dancing with words in a Scrabble/boardgame gathering at Saxbys Coffee. Come and play with us from 1-4. Although I'll try to wrangle you into playing Scrabble, others play those fancy Euro-games too. Bring your two-letter words and come to: Saxby's Coffee, 2741 Virginia Pkwy, McKinney TX 75070

Tonight I'm taking a break from word dancing and salsa dancing instead. A great place to do that is at La Hoya in Irving. This hot salsa place is north of Macarthur and Royal Lane in the same complex as Jamba Juice. La Hoya is an upscale Mexican restaurant/bar that opens its floors to salsa on Friday nights.

The smoke-free environment, smooth concrete floors and DJ keep us dancing through the night with salsa, merengue, bachata and cha-cha music. Parking is free and there is a $5 cover charge after 9:30pm. A free lesson is offered @ 10pm.

Luckily the two things I love doing most are available in one night in one place this Saturday at McKinney's Performing Arts Center. The old courthouse is a great location for my Scrabble nerd friends, okay, to be fair, we play lots of boardgames, but we all know Scrabble is the only really enjoyable game.

The Ballroom dancing group I do through meetup.com is also meeting at 8:00. So if my brain aches I'll go tango around a bit.
